Aion is a MMORPG and is a standard level – up game where you pick a character and slowly evolve him or her, increase strength and abilities, personality, in other words, level – up. Since the character is the most central part of each players game play, it is necessary that Aion is very strong in this department: character customization.
The game does handle this very well, with a wide variety of options to suit every players need. But the most interesting part is the ability to disguise or “dye” your character, thereby confusing your opponent. There are four base classes to choose from: Warrior, Mage, Scout and Priest. As you advance, you can further choose from specialized version of your base class.
Six players may form a group; four groups may form an Alliance. The game progresses by completing normal quests, some great campaign quests and easy work orders. You can also learn various crafts or skill, out of which you can excel in any two. There are six crafts to choose from: weapon – smithing, armor – smithing, handcrafting, tailoring, alchemy, and cooking.
The unit of currency is called kinah, and the player can use this to upgrade their character for battles. The battle system takes place in the Abyss, which is the PvP zone. There are castles which are controlled by specific groups or guilds. Control of these castles can be gotten by defeating the other guild in a battle. Abyss points are acquired by killing other competing players.
