Tips on Keeping the Kitchen Sink Clean

The kitchen sink is where we clean all our dishes and wash our food. Every day, each time we wash our ingredients before cooking, wash the dishes after each meals and wash our hands before we eat we make use of the kitchen sink. We use the sink for cleaning so much that the kitchen sink must also be clean itself. This is where we wash the utensils that we use for eating and wash the food we eat, it is very cruel that we maintain the kitchen sink always clean. Here are some tips in maintaining the sink sparkly clean:

o Always wash, wipe and dry the kitchen sink every time you finish washing the dishes.
o Also, do the same for stove tops and counters. Make this your regular dishwashing routine, cleaning the whole sink area and every sink fixtures.
o For hard to remove stains like hard water stains, you may try the following:

a. Use vinegar. Vinegar is widely known for removing variety of stains and these include stains that we find in the sink. Just pour vinegar on the sink and let it sit for 15 – 20 minutes. After that, rinse and dry it.
b. You can use mouthwash as well! Apply mouthwash on a sponge and wipe the sink with it. Mouthwash is good for disinfecting the sink and removing stains as well.
c. Use baking soda. Baking soda is also a well known stain remover. Sprinkle some baking soda on the sink, apply a small amount of water then scrub the sink well. Rinse and dry afterwards.

Remember that sink is moist area in the kitchen and bacteria can easily live in it especially if the sink is kept dirty. That is why it is important to develop the habit a routine to make sure that the sink is always clean and dry. This is a great way to prevent sickness among your family members.
